Aki and Pawpaw are unquestionably two of the most well-known Nollywood acting duos of all time; they have worked in the Nigerian film business for over two decades, playing humorous roles as siblings and close friends. 


The two senior actors gained these endearing nicknames (Aki and Pawpaw) from their popular 2002 film, as the duo's funny characters changed the face of Nollywood and provided a new flavour to the industry. 


First and foremost, let us discuss Aki, whose true name is Chinedu Ikedieze. He is a top Nollywood actor and comedian best known for playing Aki in the 2002 film Aki na Ukwa (also known as Okwu na Uka).




The famous actor is of Igbo descent, having been born on December 12, 1977, in Iluoma Uzuakoli, Bende, Abia, Nigeria, to Michael Ikedieze Ogbonna and his wife. Chinedu stated in one of these interviews that he planned to be a doctor or a lawyer but changed his mind in high school. 


He joined the Dramatic Society at his secondary school and later enrolled in Mass Communications courses at Enugu State's Institute of Management & Technology (IMT).


With a net worth of $6 million, he is considered one of Africa's richest actors. In 2007, he got the Lifetime Achievement Award from the African Movie Academy Awards. Now, let's discuss about Pawpaw, also known as Osita Iheme, a prominent Nollywood actor and comedian.




His parents are Augustine (father) and Herbert Iheme (mother). Osita Iheme, an Igbo actor, was born in Mbaitoli, Imo State, but reared in Abia State, Nigeria. He has four siblings and is best known for his performance as 'Pawpaw' in the 2002 film Aki na Ukwa, with Chinedu Ikedieze.


Osita Iheme, often known as Pawpaw, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Lagos State University before beginning his acting career in 1998, portraying children and minor roles. 




The wicked character of "Pawpaw" in the Aki na Ukwa made him an African icon, and after he was allowed to play more adult roles, he appeared in a variety of films, including Tom and Jerry, Jadon, Reggae Boys, Big Daddies, Mr. Ibu, and Oke Belgium.


 Aside from his well-known contributions to the development of the Nollywood film industry, he is the Rotary International District 9110 New Generation Ambassador and has garnered various accolades. 



He is also a very wealthy man, with enterprises in the media, fashion, branding/graphics, and tourism industries; according to a significant source, his net worth is approximately $5. 2 million. President Goodluck Jonathan awarded him the Nigerian National Honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (2011), and he won the Best Actor Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Award (2014).
