The Study in Canada Scholarships (SICS) program for the 2025-2026 academic year is now accepting applications. Funded by Global Affairs Canada, this initiative enables Canadian post-secondary institutions to host international students for short-term study or research exchanges, thereby strengthening Canada’s international academic partnerships.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of eligible countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal, Taiwan, Türkiye, Ukraine, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uganda.
• Enrollment: Candidates must be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution in their home country and continue to pay tuition fees there during the exchange period.
Scholarship Value and Duration:
The scholarship amounts vary based on the level and duration of study:
• Undergraduate (4 months): $10,200 CAD
• Graduate (4 months): $10,200 CAD
• Graduate (5-6 months): $12,700 CAD
These funds cover expenses such as visa or study/work permit fees, airfare, health insurance, living costs, ground transportation, and books.
Application Process:
Interested students should contact the international office of their home institution to express interest and confirm if there is an existing exchange agreement with a Canadian institution. The Canadian institution will then apply for the scholarship on behalf of the student.
Application Deadline:
The deadline for Canadian institutions to submit applications on behalf of candidates is March 18, 2025.
