Marvel's 'The Fantastic Four' Enlists Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach

Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’ casts Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach

Pascal is Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Kirby is Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Quinn is Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm (aka the Thing).

Marvel Studios introduces its own version of the "Fantastic Four." The team of superheroes, the original creations by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for Marvel Comics, will feature Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing).

Disney, in a surprising move, has switched the release dates of "The Fantastic Four" (now slated for May 2, 2025) and "Thunderbolts" (now scheduled for July 25, 2025).

The iconic villain Victor von Doom from the Marvel universe is yet to be cast for this project.

As is typical of Marvel productions, specific plot details are being kept under wraps. In the comics, the Fantastic Four are a group of astronauts who gain superhuman abilities after exposure to cosmic rays in space.

Reed acquires the power to stretch his body to incredible lengths. Sue, Reed's partner and later spouse, can control light to vanish from sight and erect forcefields. Johnny, Sue's brother, can transform into flames, granting him flight abilities. Meanwhile, Ben, Reed's close friend, undergoes a complete metamorphosis into a being referred to as the Thing, with a body made of massive orange rocks, giving him immense strength, albeit with a constant burden about his appearance.

"Fantastic Four" will be helmed by Matt Shakman ("WandaVision," "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters"), with a script penned by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. The casting of Pascal was initially leaked in November, but Marvel has kept a tight lid on revealing the cast for this beloved superhero ensemble. Filming is expected to commence in the upcoming summer.

Previously, the Fantastic Four were not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the film rights were held by 20th Century Fox, which produced three movies featuring the characters.

In the past, we saw films like "Fantastic Four" and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," released in 2005 and 2007 respectively. Ioan Gruffudd portrayed Reed, Jessica Alba portrayed Sue, Michael Chiklis portrayed Ben, and Chris Evans, before his Captain America days, portrayed Johnny.

A reboot attempt by Fox in 2015, with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Michael B. Jordan in the roles, faced criticism and failed at the box office. Following Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox, the characters have now come under the Marvel Studios umbrella.

The MCU briefly teased Reed Richards in 2022's "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," where John Krasinski made a cameo appearance as a variant of the character, in a nod to online fan campaigns.

With the inclusion of the complete Fantastic Four team, Marvel Studios appears to be anchoring the future of the MCU, aiming to address the perceived directionless nature of the franchise post-“Avengers: Endgame" after the departure of key characters like Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. 🌟 #Marvel #FantasticFour #ExcitingTimes
