The Red Devils have finally entered talks with Atalanta for the Danish starlet.
Manchester United reportedly made a “verbal proposal” for Rasmus Hojlund to Atalanta on Wednesday.
The Red Devils already have an agreement in place with Hojlund over a five-year deal. It seems they are now ready to take the next step in signing the Dane.
According to Fabrizio Romani, Man Utd have made a €60m offer for Hojlund. The Sky Sports journalist claims the club are keen to pay €50m in fixed fee plus another €10m in add-ons.
Since the start of the summer transfer window, several outlets have claimed that Atalanta demanded around €100m for Hojlund. However, Romano believes the Italian side are open to selling the striker for “at least €70m”.
The newly-revealed price tag is a major boost in United’s pursuit of the 20-year-old. However, the Red Devils could still miss out on signing Hojlund due to competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
The French giants, who are pushing to sell Kylian Mbappe ahead of the next campaign, have entered the transfer race for Hojlund.
PSG are actively negotiating with the player’s representatives, reportedly offering higher wages than Man Utd. However, most observers believe it’s unlikely that Hojlund would snub Man Utd for another club ahead of the next campaign.
