The Red Devils come into their match against Liverpool on the back of a wonderful run of results.
Luke Shaw believes beating Liverpool is a crucial step in Manchester United’ push toward entering the Premier League title race.
The Red Devils won their first trophy under Erik ten Hag by defeating Newcastle 2-0 last week. The victory came after a string of brilliant performances that have sent United to the third spot on the Premier League table.
On Sunday, Man Utd take on Liverpool, who have struggled for consistency throughout the current season. However, Shaw believes his side should prepare for a difficult match at Anfield.
“They’re always big, big games,” the Man Utd star told Premier League Productions. “I think if we want to be challenging for the title, we need to be going there and winning these games.
“But, of course, on the other hand, we know it’s going to be an extremely tough game. It’s always a tough game against Liverpool. They’re an amazing side.”
Asked about United’s incredible start under Ten Hag, Shaw added: “I think all of us can look at it as a fresh start.
“It’s been a tough few years here at United and I think it can be a new beginning.
“It’s a new era, it’s time to create our own history with a new manager, with new players, new team, it’s a great start in the direction we want to go in.”
