The Reds have dealt with a host of crucial injury blows so far this season.
Jurgen Klopp has blamed Liverpool’s injury crisis for their slow start to the season.
A surprise defeat against Nottingham Forest saw the Reds suffer another Premier League setback this weekend. The victory came after Liverpool’s impressive win over Manchester City, highlighting their unstable form.
Speaking ahead of his side’s Champions League match against Ajax, Klopp admitted the injuries have made it difficult for the Reds to stay consistent this season.
“It starts with injuries then the problem is that the players who have no injuries have to play too often,” he said.
“Then the players that do have the injuries, they come back and play too early very often, that’s how it is.”
He added: “It’s tricky, and obviously, those situations are not sorted overnight.
“We played really good a couple of times, but it is not like we are without problems for these games. We play a good game and then we lose two players out after the game. Wow and then another one not available for more than 20 minutes, so that’s not easy.”
Following the game against Ajax, Liverpool will return to the Premier League to host Leeds on Saturday.
